Valentines Park
Redbridge
Redbridge
Valentines Park was acquired by the London Borough of Redbridge in stages from the 1890’s until 1924 and comprises 125 acres of the former estate. The public Park includes a high quality Rococo garden of the eighteenth century, with grottoes and garden features, as well as a fine municipal layout with boating lake, clock tower and horticultural displays.
Working in conjunction with Land Use Consultants, Richard Griffiths Architects secured funding of £1.2 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund for the repair and restoration of the Rococo historic core area, which is part of the total grant of £3.2 million for the whole park. A new cafe was subsequently completed.
