RGA’s design for the listed Salisbury Court forms part of Eric Parry’s new Law Courts on Fleet Street, with construction well underway.

We are restoring and converting the handsome Queen Anne style listed building, designed by Charles Peebles in 1884 as a publishing house and printing works, to provide bars and restaurants across all of its four floors. Our design for the brick elevation facing the new square to the south is centred on a tall ribbed chimney stack, such as Norman Shaw used in his buildings that gave rise to the style.

The Horniman Museum

Re-roofing works at The North Hall Gallery project at The Horniman Museum are progressing well on site too. Working with Feilden Fowles Architects, RGA are supporting the project as conservation consultants and lead designers for the roof refurbishment.

Repair works to the Grade I listed St George’s Guildhall in King’s Lynn have begun. These works contribute to enabling a thriving theatrical venue for the site and King’s Lynn.

RGA have recently submitted a planning application, acting as Lead Architects, to transform the 13th Century Poor Priest’s Hospital and adjacent buildings into a welcoming visitor and education space. Working with Sarah Wigglesworth Architects, the designs will provide the Marlowe Trust with a new theatre studio, dedicated to learning and performance operations in a unique historic setting. Below is an illustration of the proposed studio, clad in a contextual timber and brick to respect the local surroundings, positioned opposite Canterbury’s Franciscan Gardens.

RGA has been appointed by the London Borough of Bromley to lead the conservation of Scadbury Medieval Moated Manor, a scheduled monument dating to the 13th century located in Chislehurst. The site comprises a moated island with the standing remains of a Tudor manor house visited by Elizabeth I in 1597. Having been on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register since 2014, the moat walls require urgent repair, with sections showing significant structural deterioration from centuries of water exposure and plant growth.

This winter, we will undertake enabling works to drain sections of the moat and carry out detailed investigations of the exposed fabric. We look forward to helping secure the future of this remarkable site for generations to come.

Practice Updates

RGA recently attended the third event of the Retrofit Roadshow series, organised as part of The King’s Foundation and RIBA’s partnership programme, held at Custom House. Guests were given exclusive tours of the Grade I listed building, one of the last opportunities to see it in its original form before construction commences in Spring 2026. A thoughtful panel discussion followed between RIBA, The King’s Foundation, Orms Architects and Jastar Capital. The morning offered valuable insight into the care and authentic vision that has driven this project, one that we are privileged to have contributed to.

INTBAU World Congress 2025

RGA opened its doors as part of INTBAU’s fifth World Congress and a milestone 25th anniversary: a global gathering of experts, practitioners, and thought leaders from the network and beyond shaping the future of traditional architecture, building, and urbanism.

The session explored RGA’s distinctive approach to historic buildings, particularly the layering of history, revealing and celebrating different historic periods and adding contemporary interventions. The presentation followed a narrative from investigation through intervention to philosophy.
